Who We Are

Cedar Grove is the passion project of Scott King, a dedicated farmer with a rich background in horticulture and sustainable agriculture. Scott’s journey in farming began in 2012 while he was still a student at the University of Guelph, and has since evolved into a full-fledged operation at Cedar Grove. With the support of his partner and the company of a loyal farm dog, Scott has expanded the farm’s offerings beyond its original specialty of garlic—once boasting over 40 varieties—to a diverse range of mixed vegetables.

Our Farming Practices

• Diversification and Sustainability: For the 2018 season and beyond, Cedar Grove has aimed to diversify its crop production, focusing on a wider variety of mixed vegetables. This shift not only enhances the soil’s health and biodiversity but also provides our customers with a richer selection of fresh, organic produce.
• Education and Community: Scott’s dual role as a farmer and an educator—serving as a program tech and soil sciences teacher for the Sustainable Agriculture Program at Fleming College—underscores our farm’s dedication to spreading knowledge and best practices in sustainable agriculture.
